Travel Basics
If you plan on leaving the country when you travel you are going to need to get a passport, or renew an existing one. Leave yourself plenty of time when first looking at trip so that by the time your plans arrive so has your passport. It can take up to six weeks, once your application has been submitted, to receive your passport. So allow enough time before you plan on leaving to get it, because without it you are not going anywhere. Here is the application process you need to go through in order to receive a passport. Aside from the actual application, there are several things that you are going to need in order to fully apply. First, you must find an acceptable office at which to apply. If you do not know of the nearest Passport Agency or Acceptance Facility you can go online to http://iafdb.travel.state.gov/ for a searchable database of facilities near you. Once you have found the appropriate facility to go to, you need to be sure you have the proper documentation to bring with you in order to speed things along. Some of the items you need to bring with are: the completed application, your Social Security number, evidence of U.S. citizenship (in the form of an original birth certificate, a previous undamaged passport, Naturalization papers-just to name a few), online games strategie identification (in the form of a driver’s license or ID, Military ID, etc.), a photocopy of the identification being given, photos to be used and the applicable fees (which can run from about $35-$100). That was only a fraction of everything, so for a more in depth look at the process and what you need to bring etc. go to--

That websites has all the information you need.
The next essential element in travel is how. You can travel by car, bus, train, plane, boat or any combination of them. In order to travel by bus, train or plane (and occasionally boat) you need to purchase a ticket. Next, you have to decide if it’s going to be a one way or round trip. If you plan on coming home getting a round trip ticket costs less in the long run, but if you’re not sure when you will be coming back you may want to check with the carrier and see if there is an open ended deal. What I mean by that is basically you are coming home, but you just don’t know when-so instead of buying two one way tickets, they might be able to accommodate your circumstance. It is definitely worth a shot.
Then you have to decide if you are going to rent a car. If you travel via air, many airports have car rental dealers within its compounds to make the process easier; you can pick it up on your way out and drop it off when you leave, sounds pretty easy to me. Aside from privately owned dealers, you have the major corporations. Some of those are: Enterprise, Budget and Hertz. If you plan to rent one before you leave, you can look at www.expedia.com or www.orbitz.com for one along with everything else-sort of a one stop shop for travel needs and deals. If you can find deals through the company itself, you might be able to use another deal/program to use along with it. It is definitely worth a look.
